How we are greening
GreenEdge is a carbon-neutral company. Our emissions offsets are purchased
through PACE Credible Carbon (www.carbon.org.za) and go toward the 2Tribes township
renewable energy project in Benoni.
Recycling: All office and other paper, glass, hard plastic and tins, printer
ink cartridges recycled. Lunch leftovers and coffee grounds composted.
Energy: No computers or monitor lights left on overnight. Plugs switched
off at wall where accessible. On waiting list for renewable energy from City Council
/ Darling Wind Farm.
Transport: Commute mostly non- peak hours to avoid stop-start driving and
idling. Car trips minimised, hypermiling practised, appointments preplanned to
optimise route economy. Use telecons in preference to meetings which involve travel.
Resource use: Communicate electronically as far as possible, use SAPPI
Triple Green recycled office and fine paper; for large print jobs computer-to-plate
process to avoid chemical repro and PVC film. For interior signage, Mondi Xtrata
recycled substrate.
